Gray Area Creative Code Apprenticeship

A repurposed vintage gilded picture frame houses a matrix of LEDs behind acrylic diffusion. A camera provides an interactive feed that allows viewers to influence the display of the LEDs.
This sculpture was used as a platform for students of the Gray Area’s Creative Code Apprenticeship program to display their work. Soma was a teacher in this program, teaching Bay Area youth the fundamentals of programming as a medium for creative expression.
